What should a painter's website have?

Most painting work starts with a recommendation, and the person who hears your name looks you up before they ring. Your site should show them six things:

• Your own finished jobs, grouped by the kind of work, with before and after pairs where you have them
• A page for every service you offer, from interior and exterior painting to wallpapering, panelling and spray finishes
• A page for every area you cover, so a search for a painter in that town finds you
• Your Google reviews, word for word, with a link to leave another
• Your phone number on every screen, and a quote form that goes straight to your inbox
• A site that loads in about a second on a phone, which is where most people will look you up

Homes and commercial work

A homeowner wants to see your finished rooms and your reviews. A main contractor wants your accreditations, insurance and method statements. We build the site around the work you want more of, and if you do both, each kind of customer gets a route of their own.

Quotes from photos

Your customer photographs the job and answers a few taps about it, and you get one email with the photos, their answers and their contact details, ready to price. You set every price yourself, and you can text it back from your phone. It runs today on Painted by Robbie's site, and the photo quotes page shows how it works.

What it costs

A website is €500, everything included, up to thirty pages, with €300 a year after the first year for hosting, security, backups and changes. There is no VAT on top. The photo quote page is quoted separately, set up and branded to your business. Everything that ships with a site is on the pricing page.

What does a website for a painter cost? The build is €500 and care is €300 a year after the first year, with no VAT on top.

Can you show my before and after photos? Yes. A before and after page suits painting work well, and Painted by Robbie's site has one.

Do I need a page for every area I work in? It helps. A page for each area lets you show up when someone searches for a painter in that town.

I mostly work for main contractors. Is this for me? Yes. We give your accreditations and insurance a clear place on the site, the way T & D's site does.

How long does it take? Most builds take one to two weeks, and we can write the words for you.

Do I own the website? Yes. The domain is registered in your name, and the site is yours.
