Where they started
Robbie is a painter and decorator working under his own name. The work was already out there, posted job by job to Instagram: finished rooms, panelling, doors, before and afters. That page was his entire presence online.
A customer who liked what they saw could only reach him through Instagram, and a search of his business name found no website at all.
What we built
Twenty nine pages on his own domain, registered in his own name.
- A gallery of thirty one of his own photographs, grouped by the kind of job
- A before and after page, because that is what he was already posting and it earned a page of its own
- Seven service pages, from interior painting through halls, stairs and landings to doors and woodwork
- Fourteen pages for the places he works, from Cork city out to Glanmire, Blarney and Mallow, so a search for a painter in any of them lands on a page about that place
- His Google reviews on the homepage, word for word, with a link to leave another
- A quote form going straight to his inbox, and click to call on every screen
- A photo quote page: a customer photographs the job, answers a few taps about the rooms, and it all arrives in Robbie's inbox in one bundle so he can price it and text back
- Privacy and cookie consent in place, and an SSL padlock
- Registered with Google and Bing, with visits, call taps and enquiries counted from day one
Where it landed
The site scores 100 on accessibility, best practices and search, and between 95 and 100 on performance, which moves from one run of Google's test to the next without the site changing. It loads in about a second on a phone.
A search of his name now finds his own jobs and his reviews, with a form, his phone number and the photo quote page a tap away.
