McCrohan Satellite Systems
A satellite, TV and CCTV installer covering Kerry.

Where they started
McCrohan already had a website, and it was the problem.
It was slow, it was heavy with things it did not need, and it was doing none of the jobs a website is supposed to do for a business that lives on callouts. Someone searching for a satellite installer would find it, wait, and go elsewhere.
His email address had stopped working too, and he did not know. Anything sent to it never arrived and nothing told him it had failed, so a customer who emailed got no reply and he never knew they had written. An address that quietly fails looks the same from the inside as a quiet month. The enquiries that did get through arrived in whatever inbox happened to be nearest.
For a trade, that is not a small leak. Nobody browses for a CCTV installer. They have a problem now, they search on a phone, and they ring the first one that answers.
What we built
Twenty one pages, so that every job McCrohan does and every town he covers has a page of its own.
- Six service pages. Starlink installation, satellite TV, TV aerials, calving cameras, full home Wi-Fi and point-to-point Wi-Fi, each written out properly with what the work involves and what a customer gets
- Eleven town pages across Kerry, from Tralee and Killarney out to Dingle, Cahersiveen and Waterville
- A working email address, a contact form that lands in it, and click to call on every screen
- Built mobile first, because that is where the searches happen
- Privacy and cookie consent in place
- Registered with Google and Bing, sitemap and schema in place, so search engines can read what the business does
Then there is the part most sites this size do not have. Cara, an assistant that sits on the site and answers questions at any hour. Someone lands after nine on a Friday wanting to know whether they cover their area or what a Starlink install involves, Cara answers, takes their details, and the enquiry is waiting in the morning. Every enquiry, from the chat and from the form, is stored in one place rather than scattered across inboxes.
Where it landed
The site loads in about a second, on a phone, on rural broadband, and scores 100 on accessibility, best practices and search, and between 95 and 100 on performance, which moves from one run of Google's test to the next without the site changing. The live figures sit on our homepage, measured each time it is rebuilt.
Someone searching for a Starlink installer in Dingle lands on a page written about that job, in that county, with a way to ring him on it. Google has somewhere exact to send them. The same is true for calving cameras, aerials, home Wi-Fi and every town he covers.
His email works. Enquiries come in on it now, week in week out, alongside the form, the phone and Cara. Every one of them lands somewhere he will see it, which is the whole point of the build: a trade wins the job by being the first one to answer, and being found is the step before answering.
What it cost them to run
Hosting, backups, security and any changes they want. One invoice a year.
