A painting and decorating contractor based in Nottingham, working on commercial schemes across the UK and on private homes.

Where they started

T & D have been decorating since 2002, and a lot of their work comes through main contractors. On that kind of job the paperwork gets checked before anyone picks up the phone: accreditations, cards, insurance and method statements.

Their domain showed a holding page. A site manager who searched the name had nothing to check.

What we built

Twelve pages on their own domain.

• An accreditations page with all six: SafeContractor, CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, SSSTS and City & Guilds, plus their third-party accreditation for intumescent fire protection
• Six service pages, from office fit-outs and structural steel to fire protection coatings, out-of-hours work and spray finishes, each with what the work involves and a matching project
• A portfolio of 111 of their own photographs, split into private homes and commercial work
• Four project case studies, from a logistics hub and an occupied office to a hotel refurbishment and a period home
• Straight answers to the questions main contractors ask first: documentation, cards, insurance and out-of-hours working
• An enquiry form going straight to their inbox, and click to call on every screen
• A privacy policy written for UK GDPR, and no tracking cookies
• Registered with Google and Bing, with visits, call taps and enquiries counted from day one

Where it landed

The site scores 100 on accessibility, best practices and search, and between 95 and 100 on performance, which moves from one run of Google's test to the next without the site changing. It loads in about a second on a phone.

A site manager checking them before a job now finds every accreditation, the insurance cover and over a hundred photographs of their work, with the phone number a tap away.
