Irish Daily
A travel and culture brand covering the whole of Ireland, with a sister account, Cork Daily, for Cork.

Where they started
Irish Daily writes about the places worth the drive, the festivals that fill a weekend and the parts of Irish life that need explaining, and most of it goes out on social media. Its Instagram account alone had more than 1.5 million followers in October 2026. The website had not kept up with the social accounts.
We took the brief in one phone call: things to do place by place, in the top ten format Irish Daily already uses; what's on, day by day; good photographs of the places themselves; and a way for a business to ask about advertising.
What we built
More than 750 pages on Irish Daily's own domain.
- All 32 counties, north and south, each with a ranked top ten, ten more after it and a county map
- A page for each of those 640 places, most with directions and the places nearby, and the official site where there is one
- What's on, by the day and by county, from Fáilte Ireland's listings, with pages of their own for Halloween, Christmas and the next bank holiday weekend, and a list of Christmas markets checked against each organiser's own page
- A way in for advertisers: an advertise page with a short form that goes to Irish Daily's inbox, and paid Featured spots on the homepage and at the end of every county's list
- One search across the whole site, from places and towns to events and guides, which finds Blarney Castle when someone types "Blarny"
- On this day in Irish history, with an entry for every day of the year, and the Irish word of the day from a list of 400, each with its meaning
- Nearly 600 photographs, each credited on the site with its source and its licence
- 583 old web addresses forwarding to a page on the new site, most of them to the county or place they were about, so a link in an old post or search result lands somewhere useful
- No cookies, no ad trackers and A-rated security on every page
- Registered with Google and Bing
The part that runs itself
A small program of ours collects Fáilte Ireland's event listings every night, so nobody has to type them in.
A couple of hours later the site is set to rebuild itself and check every page before anything is uploaded. If one of those checks fails, nothing goes up and we get an email. The same rebuild moves the bank holiday page on to the next long weekend, and it is set to switch the site from Halloween to Christmas on 2nd November.
Irish Daily has no admin panel to log into and no software to keep up to date. When something on the site needs changing, they send us a message and we change it.
Where it landed
The homepage scores 100 on accessibility, best practices and search, and between 95 and 100 on performance, which moves from one run of Google's test to the next without the site changing.
Someone who sees a post and wants to go can look up the county, find its top ten and, in most counties, see what's on there this week. Irish Daily can now link a post to a page on its own site, and send the next business that asks about a feature to the advertise page.
