Juice FM
A licensed student radio station broadcasting on 88.7 FM in Cork, run by Cork College of Further Education and Training from its Douglas Street campus.

Where they started
Juice FM had a website, and it did one thing well: a visitor could press play. The rest had drifted. The player never showed the track on air, the schedule listed the shows with no times against them, and the contact page still pointed at a campus the station had moved out of.
Every one of those changes needed somebody who could work the system behind the site, and the station had nobody who could. A radio week moves. The site stood still.
What we built
Sixteen pages on the station's own domain, in the college's own hosting account, with nothing behind them that needs updating.
- A live player that keeps playing as a visitor moves around the site, with the track on air read from the station's own stream and shown on every page
- Lock screen controls on a phone, so the station plays like any other audio app
- The weekly schedule, with the show on air marked automatically, and a page for each of the eight shows
- A Watch page for the station's videos, with a live slot for when they broadcast on video
- Ireland's Apple Music top ten on the Playlist page, refreshed on its own
- The Code of Practice in full, the document a licensed station publishes under the Broadcasting Act, word for word and reachable from every page
- The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from any other company, so there is no consent pop-up to get past
- Every address from the old site still works and lands on the right page, so nothing Google had already indexed was lost
The part they run themselves
The station keeps its own schedule on a private page, our schedule editor. Whoever runs the week opens the link on a phone, types a short code once, and edits it: change a time, add a show, give it a picture, set one day up and copy it across the rest of the week. One tap to publish and the site updates within a minute. Every published version is kept, so a week cleared by mistake comes back.
It came with a one-page guide and a short video, so a student can be handed it and hand it on to the next student the year after.
Where it landed
The site scores 100 on accessibility, best practices and search, and between 95 and 100 on performance, which moves from one run of Google's test to the next without the site changing.
The track on air is on the page before the first tap, the schedule on the site is whatever the station published last, and the college has nothing to log into and nothing to keep patched.
