What should a radio station's website have?

Most people come to a station's site to listen, to see who is on, or to check the schedule. Your site should give them:

• A listen button on every page, and a player that keeps playing while they look around
• The track on air, read from your own stream and shown as it changes
• Controls on the phone's lock screen, so the station plays like any other audio app
• The weekly schedule, with the show on air marked automatically
• A page for each show, with its time and a picture
• A page for your videos, with room for a live stream when you broadcast on video

Juice FM is a licensed student station. Its site has a player that keeps playing between pages, the track on air on every page, a page for each of its eight shows, and a schedule the station edits itself from a phone.

Keep the schedule current yourselves

Our schedule editor is a private page your team opens on a phone. Change a time, add a show, give it a picture, set one day up and copy it across the week, then tap Publish and the site updates within a minute. The last thirty versions are kept, and it comes with a one-page guide and a short video, so it can be handed on to whoever runs the week next.

What it costs

A website is €500, everything included, up to thirty pages, with €300 a year after the first year for hosting, security, backups and changes. There is no VAT on top. The schedule editor is quoted separately, set up and branded to your station. Everything that ships with a site is on the pricing page.
